Galctic Heroes are a series Star Wars toys, first created in 2001, (known then under the name of Playskool Star Wars Adventure), by Playskool, a division of Hasbro. They comprised of a series of figures, around 2.25" in height, although some differ, with limited articulation, and permanently attached weapons and blasters. They usually sold in sets of two, or in theme sets, such as X-Wing Adventure Playset, The Stompin' Wampa Playset, and Millennium Falcon Adventure. The sets feature chunky, cartoon-style, diminutive characters and vehicles from the Star Wars Universe, and are intended for use by children aged 3+, although they are collected by many adults.

Star Wars Playskool Arena Adventure Set[edit | edit source]

Arena Adventure set includes Mace Windu, Anakin Skywalker, Reek and Geonosian

The Arena Adventure set features characters from the Geonosian Arena scene in Attack of the Clones, and includes Mace Windu, Anakin Skywalker, Reek and a Geonosian. The Reek is mountable, and both Anakin and Mace possess magnetic Force powers in their hands, which allow them to push other magnetic characters. The set retailed for around $9.99 in the US and £7.99 in the UK.

Star Wars Playskool Duel With Darth Maul Playset[edit | edit source]

Duel with Darth Maul Playset includes Young Anakin Skywalker, Darth Maul, Young Obi-Wan Kenobi with Force magnetism, and a Trade Federation Battle Droid, as well as Anakin's Naboo Starfighter.

The Duel With Darth Maul Playset reenacts the duel scene between Obi-Wan and Maul during The Phantom Menace, as well as Anakin's flight in the Naboo Starfighter, which has the Galactic Heroes look to it as well. A Battle droid has been thrown in for good measure, and it reacts to Ob-Wans Force magnetism. The set retailed for around $9.99 in the US and £7.99 in the UK.

Star Wars Playskool Millennium Falcon Adventure[edit | edit source]

A large boxed set, Millennium Falcon Adventure includes C-3PO, Chewbacca, Han Solo, a Stormtrooper, and the Millennium Falcon, which includes real sounds and has an open cockpit area.

The Millennium Falcon Adventure set includes a large Galactic Heroes style version of the Millennium Falcon, with real laser sounds, and a removable top, allowing characters to be put inside. The set also features C-3PO, Chewbacca, Han Solo and a Stormtrooper. It is one of the best selling Galactic Heroes sets, and retailed for around $9.99 in the US and £7.99 in the UK.

Star Wars Playskool Fast Through the Forset Playset[edit | edit source]

Fast Through the Forest Set includes two Speeder Bikes, Luke Skywalker in Rebellion attire, an adorable Wicket W. Warrick with Ewok spear, and a scout trooper.

The Fast Through the Forest Set includes characters from the chase scene on Endor, with Luke Skywalker in rebel attire, a scout trooper, a blatently adorable Wicket W. Warrick and two speeder bikes. The set retailed for around $9.99 in the US and £7.99 in the UK.

Stompin' Wampa Playset[edit | edit source]

The Stompin' Wampa Playset includes one nasty Wampa, a Tauntaun, and Luke and Han in Hoth rebel attire.

The Stompin' Wampa Playset reenacts the classic scenes from The Empire Strikes Back wherein Luke is thrown from his Tauntaun mount, inprisonned by the Wampa, and then saved from freezing by Han. The set includes a large Wampa figure, Luke, Han, and the Taun taun. The set retailed for around $9.99 in the US and £7.99 in the UK.

Hasbro's Packs[edit | edit source]

Hasbro's GH figures were packed as double packs, both from the same theme or movie.

Wave 1: A New Hope[edit | edit source]

The first wave of Hasbro's Galactic Hero line included C-3PO and Chewbacca, R2-D2 and Luke Skywalker, Obi-Wan and Darth Vader and Princess Leia and Han Solo, all as they appeared on the Death Star.

Wave 2: Attack of the Clones[edit | edit source]

The second wave focused on the Battle of Geonosis and includes sets such as Jango Fett and Obi-Wan Kenobi, Padme Amidala and Anakin Skywalker (with green lightsaber and Yoda and Phase I Clone Trooper.

Wave 3: Bounty Hunters[edit | edit source]

The third wave focuses on Bounty Hunters hired by Vader to hunt down the Millenium Falcon. They are 4-Lom and Bossk, Boba Fett and Dengar, IG-88 and Zuckuss and a Stormtrooper Double-Pack.

Wave 4: Tatooine[edit | edit source]

Wave 4 is the first Hasbro wave to draw figures from more than one movie, each from Tatooine. It features Jawa and Tusken Raider, Luke Skywalker (Jedi Knight) and Gamorrean Guard and Nikto and Lando Calrissian (Skiff Disguise.)

Wave 5: Revenge of the Sith[edit | edit source]

The sixth and final Star Wars gets three waves of figures, starting with Anakin Skywalker and Count Dooku, Obi-Wan Kenobi and General Grievous and Yoda and Palpatine.

Wave 6: Revenge of the Sith[edit | edit source]

Chewbacca and Clone Trooper, Kit Fisto and Mace Windu and R2-D2 and Super Battle Droid make up the second wave from RotS.

Wave 7: Revenge of the Sith[edit | edit source]

And to finish off the RotS tidal wave of figures come Dark Side Anakin Skywalker and 501st Trooper, Obi-Wan Kenobi and Utupau Trooper, Darth Vader and Holo Emporer Palpatine and Yoda and Kashyyyk Trooper.

Wave 8: Playskool Repacks[edit | edit source]

Hoth Gear Luke Skywalker and Hoth Gear Han Solo, Luke Skywalker with Speeder Bike and Scout Trooper with Speeder Bike are all repacks from the Playskool line.

Wave 9: Repaints[edit | edit source]

Hasbro increases your cute little armies with these repaints: Battle Droid (red) and Phase I Clone Trooper (green,) Obi-Wan Kenobi (with Qui-Gon lightsaber) and Darth Maul (with soft goods cloak) and Emporer Palpatine and Shock Trooper.

Wave 10: A New Hope[edit | edit source]

The tenth wave reaches from three parts of ANH for these figures which include Wedge Antilles and TIE Pilot, Luke Skywalker (Stormtrooper Disguise) and Han Solo (Stormtrooper Disguise,) Ben Kenobi and Sandtrooper and Han Solo and Greedo.

Wave 11: The Empire Strikes Back[edit | edit source]

The first foray into TESB showcases Chewbacca with Disassembled C-3PO, Princess Leia (Bespin Gown) and Darth Vader, Luke Skywalker (Bespin Fatigues) and Lando Calrissian and Snowtrooper and Rebel Trooper.

Wave 12: Clone Wars & more[edit | edit source]

The first Expanded Universe figures from the Galactic Heroes come in with Durge and Obi-Wan Kenobi (Clone Trooper Gear,) Anakin Skywalker (Tatooed) and Clone Trooper, Firgin D'an and Hammerhead and Darth Maul with Sith Speeder!

Wave 13: Return of the Jedi and more[edit | edit source]

The "and more" series continues with Luke Skywalker (Throne Room Duel) and Darth Vader, Royal Guard and Imperial Gunner, Princess Leia (Boushh) and Han Solo (with Carbonite Block!) and Ponda Boba and Snaggletooth.

Wave 14: Return of the Jedi and more[edit | edit source]

The upcoming set will include AT-AT Driver and AT-AT Commander, Garindan and Duros, Han Solo and Logray and Imperial Officer and Death Star Trooper.

Wave 15: Classic Trilogy[edit | edit source]

This range includes characters from episodes IV, V and VI. These are Grand Moff Tarkin & Imperial Officer, Luke Skywalker with Yoda & Spirit of Obi-Wan, Leia (Endor General) & Rebel Commando (Endor) and Weequay & Barada

Wave 16: Revenge of the Sith[edit | edit source]

The 4th rots range includes Aayla Secura & Commander Bly, Ki Adi Mundi & Commander Bacara, Saesee Tiin & Agen Kolar and Commander Gree & Tarfful.

Additional Sets[edit | edit source]

Additional promotional sets have been released: Scout Trooper (Comic-Con Giveaway) which was just the Fast Through the Forest Scout Trooper and Yoda and R2-D2 (Burger King Promo.)

Vehicles[edit | edit source]

Some vehicles were released such as the Millenium Falcon and an X-Wing, which were both re-released Playskool vehicles.

Convertibles[edit | edit source]

Some vehicles could transform, and be two-in-one: Landspeeder and X-Wing, which both had another (albeit non-canon) form.

Backpack Heroes[edit | edit source]

These figures can clip to bags.

Boba Fett, Darth Tater, Darth Vader, Han Solo, luke Skywalker and Yoda.


Cinema Scenes[edit | edit source]

Geonosis Battle[edit | edit source]

Each Cinema Scene focused on one specific movie and re-released and repainted figures in that scene. This one had Geonosian Warrior, Jango Fett, Obi-Wan Kenobi, (mismatched) C-3PO, Super Battle Droid, (red) Battle Droid, Padme Amidala, Anakin Skywalker (blue saber,) Phase I Clone Trooper (Commander) and Phase I Clone Trooper (Lieutenant.)

Death Star Escape[edit | edit source]

The second Cinema Scene captures the final moments in the fight between Obi-Wan and Darth Vader with: Darth Vader, Ben Kenobi, Princess Leia, Han Solo, Chewbacca, R2-D2, Luke Skywalker, C-3PO, R2-Q5 and a Stormtrooper.

Jedi v Sith[edit | edit source]

The third set is based on the entirety of Revenge of the Sith instead of just a scene, and had: Mace Windu, Kit Fisto, Emporer Palpatine, General Grievous, Count Dooku, Yoda, (Human) Anakin Skywalker, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Shock Trooper and Phase II Clone Trooper (Mace's Personal Squadron.)

Vader's Bounty Hunters[edit | edit source]

The fourth set features the Bounty Hunters aboard the Executor in TESB. They are Bossk, 4-LOM, IG-88, Boba Fett, Zuckuss, Darth Vader, x2 Stormtroopers, Shadow Stormtrooper and Dengar.

The Battle of Hoth[edit | edit source]

This pack is based on the Battle of Hoth in TESB. They are Rebel Trooper, Tauntaun, Han Solo, Princess Leia, Darth Vader, General Veers, Snowtrooper, and a Wampa.

The Battle of Naboo[edit | edit source]

This pack is based of the Battle of Naboo in TPM. This includes Anakin Skywalker, Naboo Fighter, Darth Mail, Battle Droid, Jar Jar, Qui-Gon Jinn and Obi-Wan.

Basic Figures[edit | edit source]

Figures shown were Weequay Guard and Barada, Endor Gear Han Solo and Endor Gear Leia Organa, Moff Tarkin and Imperial Commander and Jedi Spirit Obi-Wan and Luke with Yoda on his back.

Upcoming Cinema Scenes[edit | edit source]

There are six more Cinema Scenes planned for this year.

Cantina Band[edit | edit source]

This Scene comes with lights and sounds! It has four Bith Band Members (each with different instruments!) Duro, Ponda Boba, Luke Skywalker (with lightsaber,) Ben Kenobi and Hammerhead.

Cantina Encounter[edit | edit source]

Another scene from the Cantina includes Greedo, Chewbacca, Garindan, (blue) Snaggletooth, C-3PO, R2-D2, Wuher and x2 Sandtroopers. These are both Wal-Mart exclusives.

Battle for Naboo[edit | edit source]

This set includes some newbies to the fold: Qui-Gon Jinn, Jar Jar Binks, Battle Droid, Anakin Skywalker (Pilot,) Darth Maul and Obi-Wan (with green saber.) This also brings some Episode I back into the Heroic line.

Battle for Hoth[edit | edit source]

This set includes a Wampa, Tauntaun, Darth Vader, Imperial Snowtrooper, General Veers, Princess Leia (Hoth Gear,) (Hoth Gear) Han Solo, Hoth Rebel Trooper and Luke Skywalker (Hoth Gear.) These two are Toys 'R' Us exclusives.

Assault on the Death Star[edit | edit source]

This is the first of two Target exclusive sets. It has an X-Wing, Luke Skywalker (Pilot,) R2-D2, Princess Leia and Wedge Antilles.

Jabba's Palace[edit | edit source]

Another new guy comes into play here: featuring Jabba the Hutt, Princess Leia (Boushh,) C-3PO, Luke Skywalker (Jedi Knight, blaster,) Han Solo, Bib Fortuna, Gamorrean Guard, Klaadu and Lando Calrissian (Skiff Disguise.)
